Notifications
[notify] says which events reach you outside the pane, and how.
Notifications explains the channels.
[notify]
channel = "auto"
desktop = false
turn_done = true
prompt = true
background_paused = true
background_review = true
background_done = false
budget_warning = true
suppress_focused = true
# command = "notify-send 'heph {project}/{ref}' '{message}'"
| Key | Meaning | Default |
|---|---|---|
channel | auto, osc9, osc777, tmux, bell, or none. auto picks OSC 9 or 777 by terminal, tmux display-message under tmux without passthrough, else the bell. | "auto" |
desktop | Persistent freedesktop notifications over the session D-Bus service, in addition to the channel and command. | false |
turn_done | Notify when a turn finishes. | true |
prompt | Notify when a permission prompt, a question, or a review opens. | true |
suppress_focused | Send nothing for a pane you are looking at: the active pane of an attached tmux client, or a terminal reporting focus. | true |
command | A shell command run for each notification in addition to the channel. {event}, {ref}, {project}, and {message} are substituted. {event} is turn_done, prompt, or review. | none |
background_paused, background_review, background_done, and
budget_warning are accepted and have no effect yet: background turns and
budgets have not landed.
Notifications within one second of each other are sent as one message naming every conversation involved. Resolved notices are removed before delivery. Desktop notices are retained until their prompt or review clears, or an idle session starts new turn work, switches ref, or exits. Focus does not clear them; manual desktop dismissal is respected. See Notifications.
Project settings override explicitly supplied user settings, including
desktop = false.
