Tool Sets
[toolsets] defines named lists of tools for
plan turns. A plan turn's catalog is a tool set;
--tools NAME picks one.
[toolsets]
docs = ["view", "glob", "grep", "web_fetch", "ask_user"]
git = ["log", "show", "diff", "blame", "branches", "status"]
Every name must be a tool in the catalog, and every
tool in a set must read only: edit, create, search_replace, and
shell are refused at startup with the set and the tool named. web_fetch
counts as reading; so does ask_user.
A set with the same name as a built-in replaces it.
The built-in sets
| Set | Contains |
|---|---|
research | Every read-only tool: the file, history, conversation, and environment tools, web_fetch, and ask_user. The default. |
local | research without web_fetch. |
history | search_history, read_turn, ask_user. |
Tool sets apply to plan turns only. An ordinary turn always has the full catalog.
